About Ain
A musical identity shaped in Moscow
Korean pianist Ain Yoon has built an international career grounded in the Russian piano tradition, encompassing solo recitals, concerto appearances, chamber music, broadcasts, and major cultural productions. Her playing unites structural clarity and refined sonority with the dramatic breadth of the Romantic repertoire, revealing an artistic voice at once disciplined, vivid, and deeply personal.
After studying at Moscow’s Central Music School, Yoon continued at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she completed her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral studies under the guidance of the legendary pianist and pedagogue Eliso Virsaladze. Having begun her studies with Virsaladze in her early teens, she developed within a lineage of Russian pianism that prizes intellectual rigor, stylistic restraint, and expressive freedom.
Yoon won First Prize at the Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competition in New York and First Prize at the Pancho Vladigerov International Piano Competition in Bulgaria. She has performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, with appearances in Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States.
In Korea, she has appeared at leading venues including the Seoul Arts Center, Lotte Concert Hall, Art Center Incheon, Gyeonggi Arts Center, Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center, and Busan Cinema Center. Her orchestral partners have included the Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, Chuncheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Symphony Orchestra, Goyang Philharmonic Orchestra, Busan Symphony Orchestra, Korean Chamber Orchestra, KT Chamber Orchestra, and Gwacheon Symphony Orchestra.
